Artist: Mei Lan Fang
Tracks: Ba Hwang Bia Gei (The Emperor and his Concubine; Emperor Ba Hwang Bids Farewell to his Concubine), Pts 1 & 2
Classic Peking Opera by a classic artist - Mei Lanfang (1894-1961), the renowned singer known for playing qingyi roles (women's roles, in Chinese opera). His high-pitched voice is renowned, as is this famous track.
With classic Chinese instruments, prominently featuring the erhu string instrument, a pipa (I believe), as well as lots of percussion!
Also included: the (bit tattered) Pathé sleeve, the lyric sheet, and what seems to be 2 sheets of paper translating two other tunes (Gathering Betel Nuts and Season Song) from another Pathé disc by Zhou Xuan.
Condition: E (plays better, few very light marks - with original sleeve, Pathe lyric sheet, and 2 pieces of transcribed notes)
