(Marmalade Records 598005 UK 7" Single 1967)
This is a 1967 UK 1st pressing 7" Single. The A-side, "Cat Call", was a Jazz instrumental written by Paul McCartney, originally in the late 1950's. The Beatles often performed this song live in the very early days. It was subsequently given to Chris Barber to record & release, by McCartney, in 1967. Paul McCartney was also present at the recording, and contributes some background chorus/ vocals to the song.
The record is pressed on thick vinyl and has textured "Marmalade" labels which have a 3 pronged centre. The record has 1st press 598005 A-2 and 598005 B-1 matrix numbers. It comes with its original generic "Marmalade" company paper sleeve.
A genuine UK 1st pressing of this Beatles/ Paul McCartney related UK 7" Single. These are very rare. Two great UK Jazz tracks too. Vinyl: There is an extremely light 2.5 cm hairline surface rub mark on the A-side. This is barely visible under a strong light. There are 5 mild, or very mild, hairline surface marks on the B-side. These are very small & measure from 0.5 cm to 1.7 cm in length. There is a small area of more moderate paper sleeve rubs, or surface rub marks, on the A-side. These are not too noticeable under a strong light. Otherwise, there are some light, mild, very mild or very minor surface paper sleeve rubs which can only be seem under a strong light. The original paper sleeve, over time, has left some light, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on some areas. These, again, can only be seen under a strong light. The A-side is in Very Good++ condition. The B-side is in Very Good minus condition. Overall, Very Good condition. There is a circular ringwear, or rubbing wear, mark on the A-side label (see photo). This has left some staining or ringwear/ rubbing wear on the ring mark on some areas. It is not too distracting overall. Otherwise, there is very mild spindle wear. The A-side label is in Very Good condition. The B-side label is in Excellent condition.
The original company paper sleeve is in Near Excellent condition. There is some light, very mild or very minor ringwear. There are no seam splits.
I have play tested this single in its entirety & it plays Very Good to Very Good+ overall. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle in some quieter places. There are no noticeable clicks or pops. Overall, a very reasonable audio copy.
I shall place the vinyl into a separate plain paper sleeve. This will protect the original company paper sleeve from any damage during the shipping process.

MINT Condition = A perfect copy! Almost impossible to find like this.
NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, There may be a very few, very light paper surface sleeve rubs that can hardly be seen under strong light. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. The sleeve is virtually perfect - there is very minimal wear only.
EXCELLENT Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows minimal defects. There will be light, very mild or very minor surface sleeve rubs. There will be no scratches. The cover will be very nice & clean with maybe minimal creasing, ringwear or edge rubbing wear etc...
NEAR EXCELLENT Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times, but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only. The sleeve may have light, mild or very mild creasing,ringwear & very mild rubbing wear to the edges etc.... Overall, it will be a very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.
Very Good Condition = A well played but very decent overall copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears etc... The record will not be trashed!!
Please note that I also use "+" or "-" symbols for this grading. A plus symbol is obviously at the top end of "Very Good" & is really not far from being in "near excellent" condition. The minus symbol obviously means it is at the lower end. This will mean that it is near to being in "Good+" condition.

Royal Mail have very recently increased their postage rates. So I have revised my postage costs to reflect their increases. (Please note that these prices include packaging costs too)
Double LPs are classed as two LPs. Also posters, inserts, etc.. can increase postage costs.
All records will be sent in high quality vinyl mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7" Single. I use a cruciform box for larger orders (3-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.
I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).
I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50.
