"BUZZ WITH THE FUZZ” b/w “YOU'RE THE ONE"
The ORIGINAL WITHDRAWN 45 on COLUMBIA RECORDS rare stock issue DB 7614 from 1965.
Here's one HIGHLY regarded and very rare British psych single release, and from a GREAT 'blue-eyed soul' singer of the sixties,
Indeed, Farlowe was distinct in being probably the very first 'soul crooner', pre-dating Long John Baldry, Graham Bond, Zoot Money, Rod Stewart and Steve Marriott.
It's a two-sider for sure, though both sides are completely different;
'Buzz With The Fuzz' is an irreverent freakbeat number that could have had a nod to Ska and Blue-beat too - as there were songs that cheekily poked a challenge to authority, and the police (or 'the Fuzz' as they were called in Britain!). Moreover, Farlowe was suggesting the concept of DRUGS with the police, getting a 'BUZZ' with the boys in blue who apparently enforced AGAINST drugs! Phew, dangerous ground there, Chris! ;>)
The flip is a WONDERFUL storming soulshaking monster song that sadly had to take a dive out the back alley with the 'A' side. Such were the prudish times though, and Columbia Records were an 'establishment' lable (though they also issued The Smoke's brilliant 'My Friend Jack', which was to be banned by the BBC).
Here's a super-rare original copy - not the more common Demo (I say MORE common, but when do you even see the demo?).
This is also in GREAT condition too - a true gem of rare British psych and in lovely shape!
Anyway, a stand-alone rare gem single like this may not come around again, and especially not in this shape.

CONDITION
The vinyl here is solid EX. A quality player, with excellent shine.
Lables are clean EX, no tears, no writing, (and no bogus stickers!)!
