This is a reasonably priced ORIGINAL 1959 CHESS RECORDS U.S. MONO LP titled Chuck Berry Is On Top' from the legendary rock-n-roll pioneer Chuck Berry. It is Chess Records catalog number LP-1435, heavy rigid vinyl deep groove pressing, black Chess labels with silver print.

Condition of record is better than is usually seen with vintage early pressings of this LP - condition of record is a high VG++, almost EX, with a very few surface marks, none of which can be felt or will affect play. Condition of cover is G+/VG with a split for the entire length of the bottom edge and the right hand 1" of the top edge, and with a number of pieces of old clear tape applied along the top and bottom edges by a previous owner - I have carefully and neatly repaired the splits myself by taping from the inside. Cover also has a small thumbtack hole near the upper right corner, some wrinkles, a fair amount of contact wear, and wear along the edges and on the corners. I have priced this vintage early press classic LP modestly owing to the condition issues with the cover, record is in very nice condition - This LP would be a nice cornerstone addition to any roots rock-n-roll record collection!
