The former lead singer of the Nightcrawlers teamed up with Ron & the Starfires and members of the Birdwatchers. "Midnight Reader" is nearly as cryptic as Conlon's other songs such as "The Little Black Egg", "A Basket Of Flowers", and "I Won't Tell". The other side was recorded in Miami and is of Northern soul interest.
