CITY PREACHERS Folklore (Decca SLK 16382-P) RARE Import Frumpy MINT-

Original German first pressing of the City Preachers` debut album "Folklore", released on Decca Royal Sound (1965). Originally founded in Hamburg in 1965 by British expat John O`Brien Docker, the City Preachers are significant as the spawning ground of the careers of German rockers Inga Rumpf (Frumpy, Atlantis), Dagmar Krause (Kevin Coyne, Henry Cow) and Udo Lindenberg, amongst others.

Highlight of this traditional folk album is definitely Inga Rumpf`s take on Bob Dylan`s "Sometimes I`m In The Mood". By way of an introduction, Rumpf is charmingly referred to as "a window dresser by profession" on the album cover...

Grading:

VG+ COVER with a few edge creases and light general wear. Small store sticker on the rear cover; please see photos for details.

MINT- RECORD, looks practically unplayed. A solitary spindle line (side 2) and two or three audible pops (at the end of "Ick Hebbe Se Nich"), otherwise perfect. Rare original unboxed Decca "Royal Sound Stereo" labels with gold lettering.
