DID I MENTION that GEORGE GERSHWIN was far from being a slouch on piano? Sure, you know him as the great composer of "Rhapsody in Blue" and the like, but had you ever attended a party where there was 1) a piano and 2) George Gershwin, you knew sooner-or-later it would become a George Gershwin piano party. He made the piano sit up, roll over, do tricks, and never beg for mercy! He is one of the three or four people I've ever heard who make piano playing seem like the most FUN a person could have in life, including sex!
On this Columbia record, from November 1926, we hear George in his best Tin-Pan-Alley-song-plugger-improviser mode, dishing up two of his own fine compositions of the moment (from his currently running show, "Oh! Kay!"): "DO DO DO" and "CLAP YO' HANDS." You will play this one over and over, just to make sure you've heard what you thought you heard.
This original 1926 "Viva-Tonal" Columbia 809-D is in slightly used E- condition. There is a little wear, and there are a couple of dings on the rim of the record, which fortunately are both several furlongs away from the actual grooves.

I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will!
