Background on this eBay item -
This is a super rare, long out of print, audiophile LP TEST PRESSING title made by the famous CLASSIC RECORDS label. As all audiophiles know, Classic Records, alas, is no more. Their products have already become very difficult to find as retailers sell of their inventory and everything the company made is all out of print. We were lucky enough to store a good number of their TEST PRESSINGS on LP format, which we will be listing in our eBay store, so look for more titles under our "Vinyl Records - LP" section, under the "Classic Records" sub-section!
These test pressings are all FACTORY SEALED and come in generic white record jackets (like the picture with this listing - we provided a picture of the original cover of the LP so that a collector will better understand the LP we are referring to with respect to these test pressings), with a loose fitting plastic outer sleeve, in sealed condition. The information contained on the disc is stamped on the front of the record jacket (see details below).
As inventories keep shrinking and titles disappear, the only direction the pricing on these rarities will go is up, so this is your chance to secure one for your record collection - an investment in music that could better your return on the stock market! Good luck finding a sealed copy again and if you do, it will likely be at a much higher price!!
Test Pressing Manufacturing date: December 15, 1994

Classic Records LP Item - audiophile issue, TEST PRESSING

Pressing is in STEREO

Monteux and the LSO give a great performance, pointing the symphony's combination of delicate song-like textures and sinuous strength. This LP recording features the music of Dvorak with Pierre Monteux conducting the London Symphony Orchestra. Recorded by engineer Kenneth Wilkinson and produced by Michael Bremner for RCA in the early 1960's. Rated at 10+ by the RCA Bible.
-
Highly sought after title by audiophiles and music lovers alike - the stereo, original shaded dog is very rare and expensive, especially in near mint shape - in our humble opinion, the Classic Records reissue bests the original in many ways - in many years of collecting we have had a good number of originals. All of them pale in comparison to the reissue, primarily due to condition, noise, dynamics, etc. This is your chance to hear what this LP is supposed to sound like!
-
The Test Pressing stamped information indicates: December 15 1994, LSC 2489, A2, 45 - we can't be sure as the item is sealed, but we believe this stamped information to indicate the date of manufacturing of the test pressing, the record catalog number, the side of the record and stamper number, and that the LP is cut at 45rpm for greatest dynamics - if someone in the audiophile community has more information about this configuration, please email us the details and we will provide an update on this listing.
