Description
THIS AUCTION LOT CONSISTS OF: One rare original 1958 vinyl 45 of Seattle's African-American group, JOE BOOT & the FABULOUS WINDS, who perform "Rock and Roll Radio" / "That's Tough" [Celestial #111]. This early Seattle music artifact has been cited as probably the very first rock 45 ever recorded in Seattle. It features a combo backing the killer vocals of Joe Boot - a Georgia transplant who was friends with many other African-American music stars. In fact, Little Richard himself stopped by the Celestial studios to watch their recording session, and the Fabulous Winds performed at a concert with Little Richard at Seattle's historic Moore Theatre. A scarce unit needed for your Northwest Rock collection.
CONDITION: Excellent condition with damn clean labels. Acquired 30 years ago from the owner of Celestial Records and the engineer on those sessions, Chet Noland (RIP)
