CHILDREN OF THE FUTURE is where it all started for Steve Miller. Originally released in 1968, this debut, chock full of unpredictable acid blues, is very different from the mainstream rock sounds of the '70s that brought Miller fame and fortune. Although none of these songs are ever featured on the radio or performed at Miller's concerts, CHILDREN OF THE FUTURE remains one of Miller's more interesting and challenging releases, rated as arguably his best along with 'Sailor' and 'Brave New World' ....half of a blues outfit and half of a rather experimental psychedelic rock band that was inspired at least as much by the British psychedelia of the Beatles and the like, The Miller Blues Band delivers a very different grab bag from what other San Francisco groups at the time were all about. Of particular interest is a beautiful, haunting epic called 'In My First Mind." But for sure "Children Of The Future" is the most psychedelic album by The Miller Blues Band. There are many (most all) highlights alonn the way, up there as another best on the Lp is "Baby's Calling Me Home."  This song seems to be mixed entirely differently then the rest of the album, though it's smooth, and clean, with the vocals laid right up front in the fashion of traditional blues.  This is a timeless album, always a great listen, especially if you've had a little sugar-cube to go with your coffee.

CONDITION:

The thick gatefold cover is solid all over. VG++ having but a touch of shelf wear, clean and way above most 42 year old originals found -- having bright colors, no bends, no writing and no split seams...looks like a keeeper

The vinyl is all glossy and clean "EX" (excellent) to M- ...looks and expect to play nice.
