Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. By 1972, Mott the Hoople was near their breaking point. At a low point, David Bowie came to the rescue when he offered "Suffragette City" and "All the Young Dudes" to Ian Hunter and the boys. For some strange reason, Mott passed on the bitchin' "Suffragette City", but thankfully did not hesitate to take on "All the Young Dudes". As the title track for Mott the Hoople's 1972 album, the single release of "All the Young Dudes" pushed the group to new heights. "All the Young Dudes" was issued as an advance track during the summer of '72, paving the way for the September release of the Bowie produced album of the same name. As cool as the striding "All the Young Dudes" is, the recording sessions resulted in much more than the just the brash Bowie penned number, as the nine song effort also features some of the greatest rockers Mott would ever create, as evidenced in the set opener "Sweet Jane", plus "Sucker", "Jerkin' Crocus", the lengthy "One of the Boys", and Mick Ralph's "Ready for Love"/"After Lights". Unfortunately, it didn't take long for Mott the Hoople's new found success to bring about various issues within the ranks. Nothing good lasts forever, but for Mott the Hoople, ridin' the high was fleeting. What a strange trip it was for the members of Mott the Hoople ... "Sweet Jane", taken much faster than "Velvet Underground" would ever have dared, gave the album an eye opening start. "Sucker" was a ripping hard rocker of the best kind, tightly wrapped up in Hunters sneering screaming vocals ....a great song and a particular favorite of fans.
After another strong hard rockin' self-composed track "Momma's Little Jewel" comes the Bowie song "All The Young Dudes", released as a single proceeding the album it had been a top ten hit all over Europe and Motts first top thirty hit in the United States. Although a Bowie written song, Mott had made it their own with Mick Ralphs' guitar playing and Ian Hunter's fantastic rap outro. Mick Ralphs' contributed a superb composition with "Ready For Love", essentially one song with two hook lines, which Mick later took and re-recorded for Bad Company's debut album. The album closes with the emotional "Sea Diver" (which was to give its name to Mott the Hoople's fan club). For this David Bowie brought in his co-producer and lead guitarist Mick Ronson, who arranged and conducted dramatic arrangement for this Ian Hunter composed song ironically written about the difficulty of writing a hit single. The album entered the U.K. charts on 23 September and stayed for four weeks reaching number 21. The Critics acknowledged that it was a much cleaner sounding Mott the Hoople and predictably noted a "tough" Rolling Stones "feel" on many tracks. Nonetheless, a ground breaking album setting Mott the Hoople on the fast lane to Rock 'n' Roll stardom. CONDITION: The cover: All clean over all areas, the front cover is M- has a little light spider web crease at bottom left that is minor and is not on the (mint) back cover but keeps from a solid mint grade, hence the M- ...the 40 year old collectible is still in the original factory shrink wrapper and has 4 sharp corners, original bright colors, no bends, no writing and no split seams
