Same (Journey to the Inside of the Sun)

VERTIGO 6360 013 - 1970 - UK

Very nice original copy of the first and only album by UK psych/prog group CLEAR BLUE SKY, issued on the legendary VERTIGO label in 1970. The nice cover, designed by ROGER DEAN, has the original deleted title "Play It Loud" visible on the left seam near the name of the band, while the B-side label carries the title "Journey to the Inside of the Sun", but the record is usually simply referred to as "Clear Blue Sky".

COVER - The gatefold cover is in EX condition, with a very small tear in the top right corner on the Vertigo logo (visible in the picture below) which is only partly affected. In the inside of the gatefold there are some traces of a sticker on the right panel, on the black background, which has left some very small white spots. Very light "ring wear" on the back cover.
The titles printed on the left side are perfectly legible. Seams are solid, cover has no writings or stickers.

INNER - Original Vertigo inner with swirl logo, in Mint condition, dated 10/70.

VINYL - Clean and shiny vinyl. The B side has a scuff and a small 1cm mark on the first track which cause some low clicks (you can hear the whole track from the attached recording), but the rest of the record plays very well with light surface noise only. My grading is EX.
Record playgraded using a Shure V15-Type III stylus at 1.5gr.

LABELS - Original Vertigo with large swirl on side A and smaller on side B (Vertigo writing on the bottom side of the B side label) in perfect condition with no tears or writings.

MATRIX NUMBERS - Machine stamped 6360013 A#1 1 1 2 (side 1) and 6360013 2Y#2 1 1 1 (side 2).

Bellissima copia originale del primo e unico album del gruppo prog inglese CLEAR BLUE SKY, pubblicato dalla leggendaria etichetta VERTIGO nel 1970.
La bella copertina disegnata da ROGER DEAN riporta il titolo originale, "Play It Loud" cancellato sul lato sinistro accanto al nome del gruppo ma ancora leggibile, mentre l'etichetta del lato B contiene il titolo "Journey to the Inside of the Sun", sebbene il disco venga generalmente chiamato solo "Clear Blue Sky".

COPERTINA - La copertina apribile è in condizioni EX, con un piccolissimo strappo da etichetta in alto a destra, su una piccola parte del logo Vertigo (visibile in fotografia). Nella parte interna, sul lato destro, si vedono i segni di un adesivo che ha lasciato alcuni piccolissimi strappi sullo sfondo nero. Leggerissimo inizio di "ring wear" sul retrocopertina.
Titoli stampati sul lato perfettamente leggibili. Lati integri, la copertina non ha adesivi né scritte.

BUSTA INTERNA - Busta interna originale Vertigo con logo spirale in condizioni Mint, datata 10/70.

VINILE - Ancora pulito e brillante, ha qualche segno e un piccolo graffio superficiale di circa 1cm sul primo brano del lato B che provocano qualche leggero clic (potete giudicare da soli dalla registrazione dell'intero brano). Il resto del disco suona molto bene con leggerissimo rumore di fondo. La mia valutazione è EX.
Disco suonato con una testina Shure V15-Type III del peso di 1.5 gr.

ETICHETTE - Originali Vertigo con logo spirale grande sul lato A e più piccolo sul alto B (scritta Vertigo in basso), in condizioni perfette senza strappi o scritte.

NUMERI DI MATRICE - Stampati a macchina sul vinile, 6360013 A#1 1 1 2 (lato 1) e 6360013 2Y#2 1 1 1  (lato 2).

La valutazione di questo disco è di 400 Sterline sull'edizione attuale (2014) della Record Collector Price Guide.
