Description

A very rare 78 on Signature 15242 recorded by The Cleartones who were the Larks. Tracks are "Am I Asking Too Much" and "Cielito Lindo" and were recorded in November, 1948, at WPTF Radio in Raleigh, North Carolina. This was before Gene Mumford joined the group; members included Thermon Ruth, Allen Bunn (aka Tarheel Slim) and Melvin Coldten of the Norfolk Jazz Quartet. Condition of Side 1 is V+ with minor scuffs and scratches. Side 2 is V with slight graying of some grooves. A good careful cleaning will definitely improve condition. Label on first side has 'A-1' written in pen on upper left, about half an inch.
