Recorded on 9th/10th February 1959 at EMI Studios, St. John's Wood (now Abbey Road) in front of a 'live' audience.
Record: VG+ (Matrix nos.: XAX 1633 and 1634 - 2N)
Cover: VG++
The record and its sleeve are in very nice condition. The vinyl does have some very light surface marks but these do not interfere with the sound which is great throughout. Both labels are bright, clean and unmarked. For a record over 50s years old, it is amazing that there is no spindle-wear on either side. You don't often see this album in such good condition. The cover has slightly 'soft' corners and a little 'handling-wear' on the open side...but nothing serious. The front cover picture is in excellent condition. A good, solid, card cover with excellent spine. The flipback and laminate are in nice condition...just a little bit of 'lost' laminate on the open edge, near the top. Slightly 'yellow' with age on the back.
It's an historical 'document'...Sir Cliff's very first album...and, no doubt, the first completely Rock 'n' Roll LP in the UK.
In great condition. Get it while can....and MOVE IT!!!
LOW STARTING PRICE FOR THIS VERY COLLECTABLE RECORD.
The photos are of the actual record I am selling.
I am NOT a dealer but have many years experience of buying & selling records as a hobby. I tend to specialise in items from the 50s, 60s and 70s. I use the standard Record Collector's Grading System.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc.
I do not normally sell records that are below GOOD unless they have some rarity value.
I pack all records very carefully as I want you to receive the record(s) in the condition that I would like to receive them. I use official card record mailers with TWO layers of card inside. I always obtain a proof of postage from the Post Office. If you require Recorded Delivery and/or Insurance please let me know as soon as possible after the auction has finished. I aim to post your record(s) within 48 hours of receiving your payment.
PAYMENT PLEASE WITHIN SEVEN DAYS OF THE AUCTION END. IF THIS IS A PROBLEM PLEASE EMAIL ME AS SOON AS YOU CAN & WE WILL COME TO SOME ARRANGEMENT. IF I DON'T HEAR FROM YOU WITHIN SEVEN DAYS I WILL ASSUME YOU ARE WASTING MY TIME...AND THE RECORD WILL BE RELISTED.
