MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Odeon Records second High Fidelity Mono press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1960 by Industrias Eléctricas y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records Chile), licensed from Capitol Records Inc., U.S.A. Recording (uncredited), catalog number MSOD 8084, with machine etched matrix numbers MD7XCA 24723 S1 (“S” inverted) in Side A and MD7XCA 24931 S1 (“S” inverted) in Side B, with yellow/black Odeon Records labels, big “Odeon” at top and large spindle hole. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND FROM CHILE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Cliff Richard, The Shadows and early days of rock’n’roll!!!

“Travellin' Light” was originally released in UK in October 1959 and we had to wait until 1960 to see this single released here in Chile. Song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for songwriters and additional information about rights society and original price, “$ 1.260”, printed in Side A. If you know this single, you could have already noticed that here in Chile the sides are inverted, because “Travellin’ Light” was the Side A and “Dynamite” was the Side B of original UK issue, but here in Chile “Dynamite” is the Side A. And you can also see an error, the songwriters of “Travellin’ Light” are Sid Tepper and Roy C. Bennett but in this Chilean press the name of Roy C. Bennett is misspelled “Tepper-BENNET”, with the second “T” missed!!! So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE PRESS of this single by Cliff Richard And The Shadows, with Spanish-written titles, UNIQUE INVERTED SIDES and UNIQUE ERROR, a record almost never seen and now auctioned here in eBay by the very first time!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

This single doesn’t come with a cover. Record is in VG+ or EX- condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many soft scuffs, hairlines and very light scratches, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in EX- or EX condition both sides, clear and clean, with some spindle hole wear and writings in both sides, a small mark above the song titles and the number “2009” at right side. The sound is in strong EX or even EX+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (background noise was normal in records from Chile), with only minimal occasional soft crackles here and there, barely audible, more “evident” in the last seconds of each song, which of course don’t cause any distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a MEGARARE record with YELLOW ODEON RECORDS LABELS, Spanish-written song titles, inverted sides and UNIQUE ERROR in still a great condition, maybe not for the strictest Minty minds or audiophiles, but sure with still a nice look, clean labels and still superb sound quality after 57 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector who knows the level of rarity of this Chilean single, a record almost never seen and now auctioned here in eBay by the very first time!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND AGAIN!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels in detail. WOW!!!

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP10 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for.
