My Sunday bonus item this week is a reasonably priced ORIGINAL 1956 U.S. EMARCY RECORDS 45 RPM EXTENDED PLAY (EP) RECORD WITH ORIGINAL COVER titled 'Clifford Brown With Strings' containing four tracks from jazz trumpet man Clifford Brown accompanied by a small combo and strings. It is EmArcy Records catalog number EP-1-6100. Personnel: Clifford Brown-trumpet / Ritchie Powell-piano / George Morrow-bass / Max Roach-drums / Barry Galbraith-guitar. Strings arranged and conducted by Neal Hefti. This EP was recorded January 18, 19, and 20, 1955 - Tracks: Yesterdays, What's New, Blue Moon, Can't Help Lovin' That Man. Condition of record is a mid to high VG+ with a few surface marks, none of which can be felt or will affect play - Record plays through very nicely with just a little scattered light crackly surface noise. Both labels have a little contact wear as can be seen in my accompanying image, no other real flaws. Cover has one small flaked spot in the middle of the bottom edge, some contact wear, and a little wear along the edges and on the corners - NO splits, tears, stickers, or writing. This EP would be a nice addition to any modern jazz EP collection !
