Description
A rare and complete UK EMI, jewel cased, twin track, late 1960s, MONO, reel to reel tape of Cliff Richard's Hit Album in nice and complete condition, including the two page Emitape leaflet, packing slip and even bearing the small circular green and gold Columbia logo sticker to the Emitape spool.
Played throughout and is perfect. Clearly little played and all components in nice condition.
These late 1960s, jewel cased, MONO, tapes represent the last of the reel to reel tapes released by EMI before the then new cassette format was to be introduced. They distinguish themselves from the earlier card cased reel tapes, in that they were issued in far fewer numbers and in a jewel case, and at a time when the stereo reel format had already been introduced from 1967 onwards (as it had for the vinyl version).
Glorious mono can be played on 4 track stereo tape recorders as well as twin track mono machines. It is a pleasure to listen to the rare reel album without the usual "pop crackle and hiss" of the vinyl format.
