CLIMAX - ITALIAN LIBRARY Lp by ROBERTO CONRADO (drums / percussion) / PIERO MONTANARI (fender bass ) / AMEDEO MINGHI (treated scat vocals). Original Italian pressing on the OCTOPUS label (OTP 0290), from 1973.  Incredible Library set by the cult musicians. Easily one of the best, funkiest and most psychedelic scat sessions. The whole Lp is superb with eclectic arrangements featuring FX / dub laden male voices over delirious funk / spaced-out psych and stoned pop themes. Our soundclip opens with the B-boy funk / insane breaks and baroque voices of GLITTER / the groovy congas and infectious rhythms of MAZE / the wah wah of READY MONEY (an alternative version of a theme from the Underground Mood Library) followed by the rest of the Lp :) Freaky backward tape manipulation on POOL / maverick, strange pop with very funky drum breaks / moog synthesizers and percussion on FROGS IN LOVE / spooky voices and trippy eastern ambience to SAMPLER etc etc. Certain themes have that Italian hippie / prog and sunshine pop influence too. SAVE UP / MAZE / FROG IN LOVE and CLIMAX were all comped on Scoctopus by the Schema label. Conrado and Minghi were the key musicians behind the Underground Mood Library on Flirt label. Bass player, Piero Montanari was the man behind Bass Modulations / the bassist on the Romano Mussolini Mirage Lp and arranger - bass player on sleazy Joe D'Amato sex and horror film soundtracks. Rare Library Lp!!! Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is in shiny, VG++ condition overall with hairlines. Light surface noises. A few soft pops. Pressing burn shadow mark across a section of the 'Climax' theme and one mini burn mark to middle of 'Sliding Scale' theme but maybe common for this release? The thin, laminated sleeve is in VG+ condition with ring wear / dirt marks from storage. Corner and edge wear. Some laminate creasing / fold lines and a couple of mini chip marks from storage. Mini sticker residue mark above the front bottom right corner. Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. Rare Library Lp!!!
