Virginia Beach brothers Pusha T and Malice first built their reputation as Clipse through cold-eyed coke rap and the futuristic minimalism of the Neptunes. Following years of reunion rumours, fashion week appearances and half-coded rap beefs, the duo finally return with an album. Check first the eerie Pharrell production and sharp-tongued flexing of 'Chains & Whips', before getting your ears around the skeletal Neptunes bounce of 'POV'. 'Inglorious Bastards' reconnects most directly with the spirit of the old Re-Up Gang tapes, and then 'Birds Don't Sing' unexpectedly cuts through the bravado with genuine grief and exhaustion. The production is very polished, too.
