Description

CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack 3xLP ACETATE Arista Records
Please note due to the heavy weight of acetate discs, this will count as 4 records for postage purposes.
Original 1977 3-disc acetate set of the Close Encounters soundtrack. Please see the track listing -- these three discs have a total of 16 tracks listed, where as the commercially released LP+7" only contains 11 tracks total. I'm not sure if these additional songs are unreleased or if it's just a matter of them being titled differently from the commercial release.
Discs are as follows: 1. Side 1 is 2-sided but it appears that side 2 was miscut as the grooves have been purposely scratched out and most likely correctly recut onto the single-sided second disc. 2. Side 2 is 1-sided, comes in printed Mastering Lab jacket 3. Sides 3 and 4 are on one 2-sided disc, housed in a generic DJ jacket with handwritten notes
Condition (sleeve/vinyl):  Side 1 disc: EX/VG -- Side A has some light surface scuffs, I did a couple needle drops and didn't notice any issues. Side B has been purposely scratched out to make it unplayable.  Side 2 disc: EX/VG -- Side A has some light surface scuffs, I did a couple needle drops and didn't notice any issues. Side B is blank. Sides 3/4 disc: generic/VG both sides have some light surface scuffs, I did a couple needle drops and didn't notice any issues.

GRADING:
NM (near mint) is the highest grade for a record in beautiful shape.
EX (excellent) means there is very little to no wear -- a small, inaudible surface mark on the vinyl or a small bend on the sleeve
VG+ (very good plus) means the record has minor wear -- sleeve creased and/or shows a slight ring impression, vinyl shows cosmetic signs of handling
VG (very good) means the sleeve shows multiple flaws (sticker tear, seam split, ring wear, rumpled top) and the disc has multiple small scratches but plays ok
VG- (very good minus) means the sleeve is "well loved" with numerous flaws while the vinyl is exhibits many flaws and is noisy
G (good) means the sleeve contains major flaws such as large tears, heavy staining, etc., while the vinyl is beat but playable with no skips
