CLYDIE KING

"Missin' My Baby" b/w "My Love Grows Deeper"

Original 1965 Imperial Records "Audition Record" (White Label Promo)

7" Single | 45 RPM | Imperial 66139 | Mother Bertha Music (BMI)

Collector’s Overview: A West Coast Northern Soul Masterpiece

Cut in late 1965 at Hollywood's legendary Gold Star Studios, this is the second of Clydie King’s landmark 45s for Imperial. Written by Jerry Riopelle and Gary Zekley, published under Phil Spector’s Mother Bertha Music, and arranged by Nick De Caro, "Missin' My Baby" delivers that quintessential, reverb-drenched "Wall of Sound" dynamic paired with Clydie King's powerhouse vocal delivery. Genuine Imperial White Label Audition copies rarely surface in this tier of preservation.
