A truly excellent copy of this rare and highly sought after English folk cult classic; gleaming vinyl, impressive audio, and excellent outer gatefold sleeve

The condition of both sides of the vinyl is excellent - a real gleamer with almost all of the original gorgeous sheen intact. In fact both sides of the vinyl come across as perfect in normal daylight. When scrutinised under a bright light there are a few wispy hairlines and paper scuffs in evidence (slightly more prevalent on side 2) but these are few and there is nothing below the surface that would obviously interfere with the impressive sound quality.  

The Graphiti designed, Shorewood packaged matt gatefold outer sleeve is in excellent condition. There is barely any rubbing or scuffing on any of the edges and the spine has a couple of very minimal "dinks" but is excellent also with all writing nicely intact. There is a little rubbing on each of the corners either end of the spine and on the reverse side some very faint ring wear towards the top. The inside of the gatefold is also excellent and is a wallet type with the wallet side virtually perfect. There is a vertical 11cm surface crease adjacent to the spine on the reverse side but this is not immediately noticeable and the spine itself is slightly flattened due to being compacted in storage. But these are all minor blemishes and the overall condition of the outer sleeve is undoubtedly excellent with all original colouring and art work completely intact, all writing (including the lyrics to each of the songs) perfectly legible, and no unwanted writing or doodles at all. Note that the coffee cup stain on the "Sweet Slavery" lyric sheet, as shown on the inside of the gatefold, is NOT a coffee cup stain on the gatefold, it is a coffee cup stain on the photographed lyric sheet!

The quality of the audio is excellent. Not quite perfect because there is the occasional very light background crackle and the odd mild click. Having inspected the vinyl closely more than once it is not obvious to me as to why this mild, occasional crackle does occur - I suspect it's simply due to a little dust which has found it's way into the grooves over time and a proper clean could well cure. Nonetheless this record still makes for a great listen with the overall quality excellent, a nice tone, no skips, and no distortion even on the higher notes.

Each label is near perfect - just a couple of barely visible spindle traces adjacent to the centre whole on each side, otherwise near mint.

I DO take great care in minimising all risk thereby ensuring, as far as possible, that your purchase reaches it's destination in exactly the same condition as when I post it. Mint

Description: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent

Description: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packag­ing might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good

Description: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable sur­face marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good

Description: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

Fair 

Description: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for prop­erly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor

Description: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad

Description: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
