COB: "Moyshe McStiff And The Tartan Lancers Of The Sacred Heart" 1972, UK/Polydor 2383 161 SUPER. Disc is in beautiful EX to M- shape, a few little scuffs and hairlines from the poly-lined inner sleeve, it appears to have been played only once or twice back in the day! I'm listening now and there is no surface noise at all, it plays flawlessly. Gatefold cover has some sticker removal damage on both sides, there's a name written in ballpoint pen at the top of the back cover and the top seam of the pocket has a center split... I'm strict with covers so I'll grade this one Fair but most would call it EX. Has a poly-lined inner sleeve with a 1972 date code on it that is most certainly the original. Incredibly rare second LP by Clive's Original Band, this is easily three times rarer than their CBS album and has my favourite track by them, "Eleven Willows". I haven't had a copy of this LP to offer in nearly twenty years! There's something timeless and ethereal about British folk LPs from the early 70s; Trees, Comus, COB, Magic Carpet, Spirogyra, etc. You get the impression that these bands knew they were occupying themselves with a pursuit worthy of ageless recognition... unlike those noisy, tiresome heavy rock bands that will surely be forgotten in a few short years... It pleases me to know that both found room to co-exist on my shelf, and I could never decide which I enjoy more. Certainly they serve different purposes in my life. Music is the best drug ever invented.
