Description
This is the very rare LP by COB ‘Moyshe McStiff and the Tartan Lancers of the Sacred Heart' and is a UK Stereo first pressing on the Polydor Folk Mill label.
THIS IS SERIOUSLY RARE! THIS WAS THE SECOND AND LAST LP BY THIS UNIQUE, ECLECTIC BAND LED BY CLIVE PALMER AND IS MEGA-RARE, ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION! THIS IS THE 1972 1ST UK PRESSING IN OUTSTANDING CONDITION CONSIDERING ITS RARITY! VERY OCCASIONALLY WELL USED COPIES OF THIS LP TURN UP WITH A COVER LOOKING THE WORSE FOR WEAR - BUT FINDING THIS LP AND COVER IN THIS CONDITION IS VERY VERY RARE INDEED!! THE GATEFOLD COVER IS IN OUTSTANDING CONDITION FOR ITS AGE. DONT MISS THIS VERY RARE (POSSIBLY UNIQUE) OPPORTUNITY!
This is the ORIGINAL Stereo UK 1st pressing from 1972. The catalogue number is 2383161. All the tracks are beautifully written and performed and this LP has attained legendary status:
SIDE 1
Sheba’s Return/Lion of Judah
Let It Be You
Solomon’s Song
Eleven Willow
I Told Her
SIDE 2
Oh Bright Eyed One
Chain Of Love
Pretty Kerry
Martha & Mary
Heart Dancer
The record labels are in SUPERB condition with NO wear, NO writing, and NO spindle marks. THIS RECORD IS PART OF MY PERSONAL COLLECTION AND HAS HARDLY BEEN PLAYED – AND THEN ONLY ON TOP-QUALITY HI-FI SYSTEMS. The vinyl is in OUTSTANDING condition. Having inspected and played the LP in preparation for sale, I find there is a visible HAIRPIN SCRATCH MARK on side 1 tracks 1 and 2 and a VERY LIGHT SCUFF MARK on side 1 track 5, NEITHER OF WHICH MAKES AN AUDIBLE SOUND WHEN THE RECORD IS PLAYED. On side 2 track 1 there are 4 LIGHT CLICKS caused by a white mark which might be ingrained dust. APART FROM THAT, THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK! The record plays with CRYSTAL CLEAR UNDISTORTED SOUND, NO sticking, NO groove wear, and NO jumps, and VERY FEW of the crackles so often found on copies of this LP! IN FACT THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE BEST SOUNDING COPIES OF THIS RECORD STILL IN EXISTENCE! The record must grade EXCELLENT OR BETTER with ZERO DISTORTION!
The cover is in OUTSTANDING condition for its age! It is made of fairly soft unlaminated cardboard which would normally show considerable signs of wear and discolouration after 30+ years. The colours remain vivid with no hint of fading with age. There is NO edge wear to the spine, NO bends or creases in spine, NO rubbing and only VERY MINIMAL signs of grubbiness on the front and back sleeve. The front of the cover has a LIGHT crease running from 5 cm to the right of the top left corner diagonally across to 12 cm below the top left corner The cover has only the VERY SLIGHTEST corner wear, ZERO ringwear, and NO writing (see picture). The opening edges are straight with only SLIGHT feathering. The centre of the TOP EDGING of the back of the cover is rubbed away for 1.5cm from being filed vertically for over thirty years. This is HARDLY VISIBLE when looking at the back of the cover (see picture). The gatefold inside is in STUNNING condition with NO rubbing, NO ringwear, NO writing, NO yellowing and NO grubbiness (see picture)! The cover must grade EXCELLENT+, especially at 32 years of age!
THIS IS A MASSIVELY RARE STEREO UK 1ST PRESSING AND IMPOSSIBLY HARD TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION! DONT MISS OUT!!
THIS WILL PROBABLY BE YOUR ONLY CHANCE TO BUY AN ORIGINAL 1972 STEREO 1ST PRESSING OF THIS LP IN SUCH BRILLIANT CONDITION!!
For packaging I use strong record boxes with extra stiffeners to stop damage and bends to the cover. All LPs are sent out with the record packed separately from the original cover to stop splits and damage to the cover.
