SELF-TITLED DEBUT LP
1970
UNITED ARTISTS RECORDS UAS 29117 STEREO
First pressing of Cochise's debut LP from 1970 . Matrix B - 1U / A - 1U Stampers 1T/1L
A beautiful original copy - 1-2 plays only . Pressed with the first issue, short lived orange and pink labels which were soon changed to the rather dull cream and brown shortly after this lp was released. A very difficult album to find as a genuine first pressing. The disc is housed in the original deeply glossy outer laminated gatefold sleeve designed by Storm Thorgerson, printed and made by the E.J Day Group Ltd. Comes with original plain white inner with UK patent number and 'Made in Great Britain' printed in grey.
CONDITION
The labels are clean and unmarked. There is just the tiniest hint of a spindle mark on each side. This record has seen just extremely minimal play. Lovely rich coloured labels with no fading whatsoever. No sticker marks, writing, age spots or scuffs.
The disc surfaces are near mint. I have looked closely and I cannot see even the feintest of hairlines. Both sides are graded as visually near mint. The audio is also near mint. It plays beautifully with nothing to fault. A superb piece of country flavoured rock, highly recommended.
The outer laminated EJ Day gatefold sleeve is excellent condition. The front has a crease across one corner and a few small laminate indentations about half way down (see pictures). The rear has a small laminate bubble in the top corner adjacent to the spine. Very minor wear to the corners and to the opening edges. The wide spine is solid and fully intact. Inside panels show a bit of minor wear mostly just light rubs and age spots. The number '96' has been written in red ink on the inside of the disc pocket. A lovely cover with any faults being minor considerations in my opinion.
