COIL - Time Machines - 2 LP Clear Vinyl Excellent Condition - Drone Masterpiece

A very rare clear vinyl copy of what is arguably the greatest achievement to come from the Coil ranks - the monumental Time Machines.

This particular copy came to me from Peter Christopherson's personal archive, and was said to have been unplayed - though on arrival there were clearly to be seen spindle marks on one of the labels suggesting that one of the Coil chaps may well have had a listen to this copy. The patterns of the marks imply a shaky hand...

Apart from those still-present signs of use this copy is in excellent condition - I didn't have the heart to put a needle to it myself, and having two black vinyl versions I had no cause to. The vinyl is clean with just a couple of small parallel scuffs toward the end of side 4 (possibly audible), the printed inner sleeves are present and intact (inner sleeve seam splits are common on this one), and the gatefold sleeve is in as good a condition as one could hope for - no markings or indentations overall, no scratching to the textured black egg, and no corner bumping.

This clear vinyl version was supposed to be limited to 55 copies only, though some claim more (the amount unknown) were pressed dishonestly by the distributor - most pressing plants have an order limit of 100 copies of any particular run so perhaps this was the case here too, at this stage we are unlikely to know. What is certain that however many were actually pressed this edition is rarely encountered. My reason for selling this (as explained in another of my listings for the Friends Edition Imprint version) is that I have recently suffered hearing loss across certain frequencies and can no longer hear this beast as I know it to sound.

Most of the copies that were sold by Coil themselves were signed - this copy is not as it was retained in the Coil archive as a personal copy not intended for sale.

Records are sent outside of their sleeves to prevent seam split, and where inner printed sleeves are present they will be separated from these also. I know all too well the distress caused by a poorly packed record and will do everything I can to ensure that I do not add to that misery! To this end please afford me the opportunity of time to make sure that everything is packed well and securely before it is sent off, especially if purchases are combined.
