Description
The Col Nolan Soul Syndicate: Live At Jason's LP from 1973 on the Avan-Guard label SVL 501 (original Australian pressing).
Included in DJ Sheep's list of great Australian funk/soul/jazz/breaks LPs as listed on the soulstrut web site, and previously featured on thetasmanconnection site. Here's Sheep's review:
"The second album from The Col Nolan Soul Syndicate features Johnny Nicol on Guitar, Laurie Lewis on Sax, Roger Sellers on Drums and Nolan on Electric Piano. This wasn't recorded live, as the title would lead you to believe; Commissioned by Sydney club "Jason's," this was recorded in a studio with crowd noise dubbed between tracks! Expect a good dose of funky soul/jazz, best examples being "What's The Use" and "Make It With You"."
