Description

Hello my name is Brian and I have been a vinyl fan for many years now and have always bought and sold items to feed my vinyl hunger...I have never been a dealer but will always describe my items for sale as honestly and accurately as possible with plenty of clear and detailed pictures.
If you read my ebay feed back as a seller you will see that people are happy with what they recieve from my auctions. I try not to waffle on about how rare an album is using silly expressions such as "AWESOME" or "IMPOSSIBLE LIKE THIS" etc etc (yawn yawn)!

I am very particular about packaging the vinyl. I use cruciform boxes with cardboard stiffeners and bubble wrap for extra protection. The vinyl is always packaged outside of the sleeve to prevent seem splits. I am happy to post any where in the world if fully insured and the cost will depend on the final selling value, so I can't advise the cost until the auction has ended.

Please bid with confidence, and if for some reason you are not happy with your purchase i am happy to give a FULL refund on receiving the item back in the condition I posted it out in.

I recommend extra insurance for the more valuable items (over £40), it only costs a couple of pounds and is well worth it in my opinion. I will NOT post items over seas without full insurance.

I use the 'RECORD COLLECTOR' grading system with a + or - where appropriate.

so here we go.........

COLOSSEUM-DAUGHTER OF TIME. UK VERY FIRST LARGE A SIDE SWIRL .

  6360 017 STEREO  1970

VERTIGO SWIRL/SPIRAL LABEL

This is the very first pressing any where in the world...There were very very few of this album pressed witha FULL A side swirl. over 90% of this album have a B side SMALL swirl designe label. Very hard to locate, this large swirl pressing is in the top 5 rarest UK swirl pressings. Up there with Ben, Dr Z, Blue and Released. Much rarer than Catapila Changes.

matrix number side A  6360017   1Y//1  v  420  11  1
matrix number side B  6360017   2Y//1  v  420  11  3  THE VERY 1ST MATRIX COMBINATION.

SLEEVE......... GATEFOLD AND UNLAMINATED.Very crisp and strong. In great condition with absolute minimal signs of handleing. The front isN/MINT with No damage, just a tiny amount of surface rub at the bottom edge. The rear is in similarN/MINT condition with no ring wear just a small crease on the opening edge and minor suface rub to the bottom edge(not through the surface). The spine is also very nice with rub to the edges, the information is fully readable EX+. The top edges are in very nice EX condition with almost no wear. The bottom edges have light shelf wear but are not split EX. The opening edges are in great EX+ condition. The inner gatefold has suffered with 'over spray, of glue during the manufacturing process, and when the sleeve was first opened the surface was torn in quite a few places. All of the information is fully readable apart from the first line of 'The Daughter of Time'. There is wear to the very tips of the corners. Over all a well above average example of this highly collectable sleeve. Some 41 years old now and in a solid EX- condition. There are plenty of the later pressings out ther to enable an easy and affordable sleeve upgrade.

INSERT.......... Correct swirl company inner sleeve, dated 1070, N/MINT.

LABELS......... No damage, no unwanted writing or stickers or tears only 1 or 2 light spindle marks. N/MINT, N/MINT. FULL A.side swirl.

VINYL............ The surfaces look great with almost no very light hairlines and no deep scratches or marks any where to be seen, nice glossy deep black shine.

PLAYBACK..
I am fortunate to own a LINN SONDEK with an EKOS arm and ARKIV cartridge connected to LINN amps and LINN speakers that together show up the faults as well as the wonderful music that vinyl contains. First and most important the sound quality is 100%. There is absolutely no deteriation in the playback full, rich and loud, wonderful stereo and a big wide sound stage. These early Vertigo pressings really captured it all, GREAT STUFF! There is practically no background static/dust crackle even in the quieter parts. There are NO loud pops or clicks and there are no jumps. Just pure quality throughout. N/MINT, N/MINT. Archive quality!

A wonderful copy of a great album. You will never need to upgrade the vinyl, infact I am sure you won't find one as good as this copy, ever. Very nice copy indeed.
