Here is another item from my own collection, so you can rest assured that it has been looked after and has not been passed from collector to collector over the years. I have to confess that until the other day, I had forgotten that I even owned this record! I would love to be able to say where it came from and when but I have no recollection - it's likely it came as a swap from a fanzine producer or a small mail order company in the early 80s, but I can't say for sure. What I can say is that it is certainly a rare item - none to be found listed on ebay (either current or ended) and only one copy on D!scogs, which the seller is asking an eye-watering £395 for! The sleeve is of thin paper, envelope-style with a 'flap' at the top and almost certainly home-made (xeroxed?). The record comes with white labels, which have hand written details on them - titles and, it would appear, band signtures. It plays the same three tracks on both sides. Comes with an insert and all housed in a thin poly outer with a Matchbox Classics sticker to bottom right - see all pictures above.  
last.fm website says ... formerly known as The Wanglers, Combo Zombo are a Surf Punk band hailing from Carlisle, Cumbria. The band started their own record label called Matchbox Classics when all the members of two local bands - The Limps and No Support - contributed £50 each to fund the creation of a split EP entitled 'Opposite Sides' releasing two tracks from each band.' Chris and Keith formed Supermatix from the ashes of No Support in 1981, released another EP called 'Bad Timing' then formed The Wanglers with members of The Limps and Adrian Jonnson from The Spivs. They released their seminal EP 'Kickin' out for the Coast' which featured the signature tune 'Surfin on the Solway', the album 'Wax!' came the following year. In 1984 the band re-booted themselves as Combo Zombo and released 'Zom Bee Eye Eee' before taking time out for other projects. Although they did all get back together at various times during the '90s for festive shows. In 2012 Chris, Keith, Chuck and Adrian hit the boards again for the first time in 15 years with a 'Matchbox Classics presents' evening at the Club Victoria in Carlisle, they were joined by Izzy Strugglin' and Captain AD for the set. There are threats of more action from these surf-punksters!
As stated above, the cover is made of quite thin paper but is still in a decent VG+ condition with slight storage outer rim record-shaped impression (and a couple of gentle related bends), the odd minor handling sign, a few very small lines/ripples by the top edge etc. Nothing major at all and NO tears, writing, splits etc., just minor signs of age - please see all pictures above. As also stated above, I am fairly sure that this remains unplayed (at least by me!) and is still in EX+ condition, with nothing worse than the odd very light hairline surface mark to report only.

VINYL GRADING

NEW: note that still sealed items will be presumed to be in 'new' condition, but are obviously sold as seen. Any visible signs of wear/storage etc. beneath the shrinkwrap will be mentioned.

MINT: note please note that I will NEVER use the 'MINT' grade, as I think you are asking for trouble! The highest grade for an item that is not new will use will be NM (Near Mint).

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in very close to 'as new' condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in almost perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played a number of times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and maybe some occasional light scratches. If there is any surface noise it will be occasional, light and unobtrusive. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has obviously been played a lot and while it still plays through OK, it will have a lot of surface marks and/or light scratches (maybe also the occasional 'feelable' scratch) and most likely there there will be regular and noticeable surface noise. The cover and contents may suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine and/or seam splits, discoloration, etc.

If you live anywhere else then your parcel MUST be insured, the cost of which is to be covered by the buyer. Very sorry, but NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule.

If you live in a country that I am prepared to send by regular, uninsured mail please bear in mind that I always get a receipt and proof of posting for every item sent, but THERE WILL NOT BE A TRACKING NUMBER UNLESS YOU HAVE PAID FOR INSURED/TRACKED MAIL. Should an item take longer than expected to arrive, I will do everything I can to help, but please don't assume that there is a tracking number! Most overseas buyers seem to assume this, for some reason! If you want the item to be tracked, please choose the 'International Signed For' option at checkout - thanks!

Finally, please note that if your item (or if the combined values of the items in a single parcel) is £20.00 or above, then insurance is compulsory wherever you live. This is an extra £1.10 for 'Signed For' in the UK (up to the value of £50, after which extra cover will need to be paid for by the buyer) or an extra £5.30 for overseas buyers to cover 'International Signed For'.
