MARTHA & THE VANDELLAS
COME AND GET THESE MEMORIES
ORIGINAL 1963 MOTOWN RELEASE
GORDY #902 A 1963 US 1st pressing on the lavender GORDY label. This great LP is Martha's first album that does not come up often in any condition.
- The LP is pressed on thick non flexible vinyl. The matrix numbers in the wax are P4RM-8421-1 B A on side one and P4RM-8422-1 B A on side two. The -1 tells that this pressing was the original first pressing from the MOTOWN masters.
This MONO ANALOG has a great full fidelity sound.
Record Condition: Very Good ++ There are some scuffs from putting the LP in and out of it's jacket, one surface scratch on side 2 on the last two tracks, you can not hear it. All and all, it still sounds great, and would make any collector happy except the one that's looking for a Mint LP.
Cover/Jacket Condition: Very Good++ The only flaws are a very slight record ring ware at the bottom of the front cover (the photo shows a lot of reflected light, the ware is not as bad as it looks), and a small area where a price tag was atached on the back, left bottom.
Songs: COME AND GET THESE MEMORIES, CAN'T GET USE TO LOSING YOU, MOMENTS TO REMEMBER, THIS IS WHEN NEED YOU MOST, A LOVE LIKE YOURS, TEARS ON MY PILLOW, TO THINK YOU WOULD HURT ME, THERE HE IS AT MY DOOR, I'LL HAVE TO LET HIM GO, GIVE HIM UP, JEALOUS LOVER, OLD LOVE.
My record grading system:
MINT (M) Record may have been played once or twice, but plays and looks like new. Cover is prefect, no sign of wear. Most LP’s would still have it’s plastic on, and sealed..
NEAR MINT (NM) Vinyl may have been played several times, but shows no wear. You may find a light “scuff” or two, which would not effect the sound at all. Cover: you may find 1 or 2 small flaws, but you would have to look for them.
VERY GOOD++ (VG++) or NEAR MINT- (NM-) Between NM and VG+
VERY GOOD + (VG+) Vinyl could have several “scuffs”, it may have a short light scratch, that you wouldn’t hear while playing. It would show no wear and still have a good gloss. It would sound great! Cover would show very little wear, you would see few small worn spots without having to look too hard. This record was well taken care of and kept in plastic. You would be proud of it.
VERY GOOD (VG) Vinyl will show some wear and have some short light scratches and scuffs that one would notice while playing, but will still sound pretty good.. Cover: not ripped, no split seams, but could show some record wear and some worn spots. This record was well taken care of, but used a lot.
VERY GOOD- (VG-) Vinyl should not skip but could have a few scratches that you would be able to hear during several revolutions along with slight surface noise. Some listening pleasure would still be there. Cover: an inch of binding could be ripped, record ring wear, and worn areas. The cover was not protected.
GOOD (G) Vinyl would probably skip once or twice. You would hear some louder scratches on just about every song . Surface noise could be ever present.. Cover: could have some ripped binding, with record wear, and larger worn areas. You would only want this if nothing else was available, or the price was “right”.
POOR (P) this should be in the garbage.
