Bidders may notice that the following grading description is very similar to many other similar 1950’s classical LPs I currently have listed or am going to be listing over the next few weeks. This is due to the almost identical, practically ‘archive’ condition of the entire collection. Do check out my other listings if these are of interest. I am adding records every day.
Sleeve Condition: NEAR MINT: beautifully preserved with almost no wear to front or back, fully laminated sleeve.
Record Condition: Tricky to grade. Visually, NEAR MINT, and quite obviously very little played. There is however, some groove ‘ssh’. This is not noisy vinyl due to damage or wear and it becomes much less obvious as the record progresses on Side 1 though it is there all the time on Side 2. The music is unaffected by it and there is no trace of tracking distortion or peaking. I’m forced to conclude that it is the nature of the vinyl on which the record is pressed.
This is only one of many similar LPs I have currently listed or will shortly be listing. They are all from a small collection of early classical Decca SXL and EMI ASD Stereo and some Mono LXT and CSD LPs. All are in the most extraordinary, Near Mint condition. It would not be an exaggeration to describe the entire collection as in, ‘archive’ condition. In 25 years of record dealing and over 40 years of collecting myself, I have never come across records so perfectly cared for is almost perfectly preserved inner and outer sleeves.
