COOL GABRIELS promo LP – Rare Andy Warhol art cover GROOVE LG 1003 Here’s an unusual and very rare promo copy of the COOL GABRIELS’ 1956 LP with cover illustration by Andy Warhol. This is probably one of the first ten record covers that Andy Warhol illustrated or designed. As far as I can ascertain Andy Warhol only designed or illustrated about thirty-one record covers and his record cover art remains one of the least-known areas of his artistic creativity. This is one of the best examples of his fifties pen-and-ink line drawings which brought him fame. CONDITION: The record is in beautiful condition, It is a green-lable GROOVE recording with "Not for sale" printed on the record label. The record looks unplayed and is graded conservatively at EX (I don’t grade any records as mint). The cover is also in almost perfect shape despite its fifty years and I grade it as VG++. There is no yellowing, no writing, tears or splits. The back has been stamped "Not for sale" in large letters in the left-hand margin. Here’s your chance to buy a classic jazz trumpet record with an historic Andy Warhol cover. Good luck! CAUTION: Please don’t bid if you don’t intend to buy this record.
