Enigmatic is one way to describe Scottish composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Erland Cooper. Over the course of his career, the talented creator from picturesque Orkney has laid claim to seven critically lauded albums, including a trilogy dedicated to his childhood home and its mixture of nature and people, partnered with a plethora of celebrated writers and poets, and delivered numerous acclaimed installations.
This is before we come to the moment he buried the only existing master tape of his first album, a contemporary classical triumph, deleted all digital files, and created a treasure hunt for fans to follow and find. We're still waiting for someone to unearth it, but in the meantime are given Music For Growing Flowers - a lush, tranquil work of spectacularly understated beauty we can barely do justice with words. Just press play let it envelop you.
