Description

COSMIC EYE - DREAM SEQUENCE

Overall great condition 1972 UK 1st press copy of this highly collectable prog/psych rarity with the sparingly played vinyl and impressive stereo sound quality being true highlights

Year/Label : 1972 UK Regal Zonophone Label number :  SLRZ 1030 Matrix numbers : YCARX 91-1U, YCARX 92-1U Stampers :  1 G, 1 G (earliest)
Truly excellent (EX) - at least - condition gleaming, jet black sheen vinyl with just a couple of small wispy hairlines and extremely faint scuff marks on each side, only really visible when viewed closely under a bright light - nothing feelable or below the surface, and purely superficial as borne out by the superb stereo sound quality.   Near perfect labels - if you look very, very closely you may just be able to detect a couple of small and extremely faint spindle trails next to the centre hole on each side. Clearly this is a record that has been very sparingly played.  Non-laminated Garrod & Lofthouse very good (VG) condition outer sleeve with firm and unscuffed edges; the 1st press "nipped" end spine is also firm with all spine text remaining fully intact (just some very minor spine buckling in a couple of locations), each corner remains a near perfect right angle with barely any corner rubbing at all, and the opening edges remain straight and taut with no fraying or foxing. There are some sporadic, non-obvious and very mild surface crinkles (towards the corners and perpendicular to the spine) and the occasional small and very light handling/storage mark on the reverse side - all very trivial. The only obvious blemishes are a clearly noticeable scuff mark on the front side towards the top right corner where, presumably, a sticker was once located, and a small tear adjacent to the top edge on the reverse side which has at some stage been stuck down. Please take a close look at my photos where I have attempted to clearly show these blemishes.  Excellent plus (EX+) STEREO audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, clicks, interference, distortion or background crackle. I did notice 2 or 3 very light and barely noticeable background clicks and have to put this down to the odd speck of dust caught in the grooves through decades of storage - there can be no other cause. Great tone with crystal clear instrumentation and each side a great listen. Comes with original plain white "MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN" inner sleeve with a single 5cm split in the middle of the left side edge and with creasing and age discolouration at an absolute minimum..   Very rare and highly sought after with the condition of the vinyl and stereo sound quality each nothing less than truly excellent.
POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £4 using Royal Mail tracked 48;

for continental Europe £13 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £19 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
