Description
Original early-1950s 10-inch Mercury microgroove LP featuring COUNT BASIE AND HIS KANSAS CITY SEVEN, paired with Lester Young and His Quartet on the reverse side. This is catalog number MG 25015, pressed on the black Mercury “Long Playing Microgroove” label with Reeves-Fairchild margin control. Speed: 33⅓ RPM.
The record includes classic small-group swing performances with an outstanding lineup including Lester Young, Buck Clayton, Jo Jones, Dickie Wells, and Freddie Greene. These intimate Basie and Prez sides are highly regarded and represent an important period in early LP jazz history.
Play-tested: The vinyl is in Very Good condition with some soft pops and clicks throughout. Both sides can be played all the way through without interruption or distraction. This is an original vintage pressing, not a later reissue. The sleeve is in Very Good condition, showing edge wear, corner wear, and age toning, but the artwork and inner sleeves remains fully intact and presentable.
