Description
A nice heavyweight pressing of the Bottleneck Blues Guitar Classics 1926-1937 album on Yazoo Records (L-1026). The label information on the back cover reads: "Yazoo Records, Inc. 54 King Street New York, N.Y. 10014." This one features tunes by King Solomon Hill, Barbecue Bob, Shreveport Home Wreckers, Robert Johnson, Black Ace, Ruth Willis, Jim & Bob (The Genial Hawaiians), Bo Weavil Jackson, Weaver & Beasley, Ramblin' Thomas, Kansas Joe & Memphis Minnie, Oscar Woods, Bukka White and Irene Scruggs.
The labels are black with gold text and amazing peacock design. The hand-etched matrix reads "L-1026." In the trail off, there are also hand-etched notes: "SW-8-18-71" on side 1 and "SW-8-12-71" on side 2. This is a deep groove pressing.
The front cover is clean with slight ring wear/impression. The corners are all dinged (three are slightly creased). Toward the center left there is a small "Y-2" written in blue pen. The back cover is clean with some splotches of discoloration. There is a square-ish discoloration in the top right corner (looks like a label was removed). There is one small strip of a tear toward the bottom left corner (does not actually touch any of the liner notes).
The vinyl is VG+ (9 out of 10, vinyl looks pristine aside from a couple sleeve marks). This LP comes from a non-smoking home. The record you see in the picture is the record you will receive.
Shipping will be $4.00 for media mail in the U.S. I ship internationally -- but prefer that international bidders contact me first. I usually ship within 24 hours of receiving payment. I will combine shipping if you win multiple items. Also, I tend to recycle boxes, but I always make sure to pack items, particularly records, securely.
