Disc is VG- good gloss ; lots of hairline scratches , scuffs and marks . Both labels have mild wear . Barely noticeable “lip wave” that doesn’t effect play . Plays strong and loud , no skips . Mild crackle in the intro of Country fried Chicken and throughout the flipside - Wednesday’s rain; . Very heavy vinyl pressing
Extremely rare Funk / jazz 45 from Houston , Texas . It was a tiny private release from a jazz summer youth program which spiritual jazz group “the Lightmen”s founder Bubbha Thomas and Kashmere stage bands’ Conrad Johnson instructed.
This 45 has only turned up a few times ever and it’s known that it was only ever distributed to the students of the program, hence why so few have ever been found .
The best cut on this 45 “country fried chicken” is an alternative , more raw version of the Bubbha Thomas’ & the Lightmen’s classic underground jazz funk tune , complete with killer drumbreak intro followed by rolling bass grooves and tambourine leading into a really funky instrumental.
The flip side is more basic jazz but still good
