CRAIG BURK w/DAN ROSEN & JACK FETTERMAN

THE HISTORY OF DECENCY / OUT TO THE VARIOUS EDGES LP

Illusion Production

w/insert

Weird avantgarde album with synths & tape from legendary figures of the 80's tape circuit.

Some info on the release: A weird assortiment of  voices, guitar, bass, trumpet, miniature harp (Craig Burk), tapes (Robert James), synths, casiotone, drum machine, percussion (Dan Rosen), synths, drum machine (Jack Fetterman). Released on the legendary Illusion Production label from Caen, france, the same label that released works of Legendary pink Dots and the great Sensationnel le Journal compilations where appeared works of Etant Donnes, Pascal Comelade, Absolute Body Control and Germain Hubert Ales, Ptose Production, Rock Critics and XX Century Zorro, Bene Gesserit, Vivenza and others. Improvisation and collage to craft strange sounds and deconstructed songs for highly creative music that is as far off the path of conventions. Burk is known from being one of the most productive artists appearing on nearly every cassette compilation of the 80's experimental / industrial / synth circuit. His work appears signs of experimental craziness / synths / noises / voices. This one shows up hardly ever for sale, don't lose this chance to grab this baby.

Here's a review from the internet: "The most disorienting song album I can think of, the 2-folded ‘History of Decency/Out to the various edges’ Craig Burk LP is like a web of miniature poetic songs, a mixture of false starts and abrupt endings. So much so that when you think you’re in the middle of a song, you’re actually at the end of it. The songwriting doesn’t help either, with its undecipherable, almost aleatory accompanyment, angular rhythms and atonal keyboards. The instrumental tracks on side B sounds like outtakes from ‘Forbidden Planet’. The whole album is a tour de force in self-restraint song writing. Close to Nurse with wound, Zoviet France, Hafler Trio and Whitehouse, John Duncan, Maurizio Bianchi and Merzbow, Organum, Boyd Rice, Nocturnal Emissions! It might help if you consider each side as one long track pulverized in multiple particles."

Condition: Cover looks mint-, like new, while vinyl looks absolutely mint / unplayed, but has a tiny spot at the beggining of each side that affects playing for 8-10 spins of the vinyl.
