ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING? Of this super limited edition, yes, it is...
Firstly, you should know that this is a TRULY AM-A-A-A-A-A-ZING and super-trippy psychedelic album...reminiscent of 'Ummagumma'-era Pink Floyd...yes, THAT good!
OK...so what is this release? And how does it differ?
As you may know, the band had released this in the UK in a limited run of 500 numbered copies (all now long gone). What you might not know, is that they also did a SUPER LIMITED run of 25 (separately numbered and designed) copies for Australia.
Hand-made, silkscreened cover.
Although not mentioned as such on the cover anywhere, this 'Down Under Edition' has a double printed cover - in which, the multi-coloured geometric design has been overprinted again, but this time upside-down (that's their...errrr...humorous 'down under' aspect coming into play), and they've been numbered from #001 - #025, of 25...on the front in the bottom right-hand corner. This one is #002/25.
And that's not all: on the side of the insert featuring the lyrics and track-listing, the band's Rob Appleton and Tim Bray have added to the artwork, in their own hand, some pretty zany trippy/hippie additions to the pix of themselves - each one was completely unique (i.e. they've hand-drawn this art themselves). I've seen a few, and they're superb...in a sort of Viv Stanshall/Gong's 'Flying Teapot' kind of style. Plus they've signed it!
There are 10 photos included here - the last two are here simply to show you what the 'normal UK release' looks like - front cover (single-printed), and un-adorned insert. I have a spare of the latter (the non-signed insert) which I'll add in as a bonus, too.
