Description
This is a very fine copy from a 1980s repressing of the fifth and final LP by British group Crass, originally released in 1983. The group was part of an anarchist commune that engaged in various intertwined political and artistic activities. These activities are documented in the film, There is No Authority but Yourself, which is well worth a view. They frequently targeted the Christian religion in their diatribes while also co-opting its symbolism for their own purposes, as the front cover makes pretty obvious they're doing here. Crass were very influential in Britain and elsewhere in their day, though more for their politics and as exemplars of early punk's D.I.Y. ideals than for their music. Ambitiously produced like its predecessor, Christ - The Album, Yes Sir, I Will has a single track (the title track) spread over both sides, comprised of several different pieces linked by snippets from radio and TV programs. The record was pressed in France. The foldout poster sleeve is close to pristine (M-). The disc is clean, and plays like new -- M(-).
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their sleeves. The sleeves have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
