Description
HERE'S A CAPITAL INTERPRETATION of one of the best, most infectious hot compositions of 1926 (in an era FULL of them!), Paul Van Loan's exuberant "CRAZY QUILT." By the TENNESSEE TOOTERS. Same arrangement as the OKeh version by Charles Creath's Jazz-O-Maniacs, and it compares nicely.
On this, their last record, the Tooters' personnel is: RED NICHOLS and another (trumpets), MIFF MOLE (trombone) / ALFIE EVANS, ARNOLD BRILHART, FRED MORROW (reeds), ANONYMOUS (piano) / JOE TARTO (tuba) / VIC BERTON (drums).
On the flip is the torrid novelty, "FIRE!" by the SIX HAYSEEDS, another pseudonym slapped on HARRY RESER'S CLIQUOT CLUB ESKIMOS.
This original 1927 Vocalion 15487 is in clean EE- condition.
