THE PLAYING SURFACE LOOKS NEAR PRISTINE!!!AWESOME EARLY ORIGINAL E. DAY COVER
NEAR MINT ARCHIVE!
Another from my personal collection! An awesome original (stereo UK pressing) For any of those who know the records that I list on ebay would know my prime interest is the audio quality! The important thing to note, is that this is the earlier thick and heavier type of vinyl only found like this on the originals (later press are much more flimsier and less robust). On visual inspection this vinyls playing surface looks absolutely superb in my opinion,, unbeleivable , In fact I only played this one time prior to listing, ! This has a true bassey feel and plays through with out any problems almost as good as new!! THE AUDIO IS RATED AT THE VERY TOP ON ALL FREQUENCIES! THIS IS HIGHLY COLLECTABLE AND SOUGHT AFTER LIKE THIS ! UNBELEIVABLY 38 YEARS OLD!
Disraeli Gears is the second album by British blues-rock group Cream. It was released in November 1967 and went on to reach #5 on the UK album chart. It was also their American breakthrough, becoming a massive seller there in 1968, reaching #4 on American charts. The album features the two singles "Strange Brew" and "Sunshine of Your Love". By this time, the group was veering quite heavily away from their blues roots to indulge in more psychedelic sounds!
The title of the album, Disraeli Gears, was actually a bit of an inside joke. Eric Clapton had been thinking of getting a racing bicycle, and was discussing it with Ginger Baker, when Mick Turner, one of the roadies, commented on the performance of "those Disraeli Gears" meaning to say "derailleur gears". The band thought this was hilarious—Benjamin Disraeli was a prominent 19th Century British politician—and decided that it should be the title of their next album. Had it not been for Mick, the album would simply have been entitled Cream!
Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker all contributed songs with the help of lyricist Pete Brown and producer Felix Pappalardi. The track "Blue Condition" was unusual in that Baker, although by any account not a singer, took the lead vocal. The album was recorded in New York by their American label, the Atco division of Atlantic Records during the band's stay in the United States!
The psychedelic cover art was created by Australian artist Martin Sharp, who lived in the same building as Clapton at the time of the Chelsea artists colony The Pheasantry. At their first meeting in a London club, Clapton mentioned that he had some music that needed lyrics, so Sharp wrote out a poem he had composed on a napkin and gave it to Clapton, who recorded it as "Tales of Brave Ulysses"!
When interviewed on the episode of the VH1 show, Classic Albums, which featured Disraeli Gears, Bruce stated that when writing the song "Take it Back", he had been inspired by the contemporary media images of American students burning their draft cards and wrote the song in that spirit of rejecting militarism!
In 2004, the album was released as a 2-disc Deluxe edition including the complete album in both mono and stereo, demos, alternate takes and tracks taken from the band's live sessions on BBC radio!

Side 2 ''5894003 B#3''
The Vinyl
This vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and indeed looks almost like new!! Important note! Compared to some later press, this vinyl is the thicker and heavier type! In fact I can hardly see a blemish or indeed any indications that this vinyl has ever been played before at all! Perhapes if scrutinised under a strong light you may see a glimse of a handful of spider marks on the labels only but that's all! Unbeleivably rare like this beleive me! Any marks that could possibly be seen angled to the light would be sleeve removal only!
On visual inspection this vinyl looks absolutely superbe! IT'S HARD TO SEE SEE EVEN A BLEMISH AT ALL!!! This is the original heavier thicker type of vinyl with deeper grooves only found on these original earliest pressings! They are also more robust than later pressings which were more flimsier!!!! Only in strong light could possibly, any sleeve removal marks only be seen!!TO BE HONEST IT IS HARD TO EVEN SEE A BLEMISH AT ALL! Please note! Certainly (no) marks that are audio sounding that I heard that would produce any clicks or interfearance during the audio at all! This vinyl looks superb in my opinion! Graded near mint !
The Audio Quality
I have played this through track for track as usual and the audio is rated at the very top of any grading system in my opinion! This is cristal clear and vibrant through out. This plays with (no) signs of any distortion or that this has been overplayed! IN FACT THIS LOOKS AND SOUNDS LIKE IT HAS BARELY EVER BEEN PLAYED NO MORE THAN A HANDFUL OF TIMES I would class myself as highly critacle! Please look at my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right! Any static\crackle\the odd isolatic tick are very minor and could be contributed to a constant clean before each play! Audio is graded at the top!!! You will find the audio quality on this vinyl hard to surpass!!!Audio graded ALMOST AS GOOD AS IT GETS on my systems!
Please note! I always make this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd static\isolated static tick (not) consistant throughout the audio! Although i never heard any problems at all and have given my honest opinion, this is a genuine 35 year old vinyl (not a reissue) that would have originally been played on a 35 year old system!!!!
Please note! This has been stored in a case for at least 25 years! Any static crackle that might be heard during some quiet parts or in between track could be minimised by constant cleaning before each play in my experiance!, Build up of dust and dirt that has accumilated over the years of the vinyl being stored laying dormant causes most of this problem so please allow for some light static crackle as previously mentioned!!!!! I would class myself as highly critical ! Please look at my completed listings of records that I have sold of this calaber and you will see that I normally get it right!!!!!!

All text is readable even at the spine! Lovely, Super and glossy laminated front.
