Disraeli Gears is the second album by Cream. It was released on 10 November 1967 and went on to reach #5 on the UK Albums Chart. It was also Cream's American breakthrough, becoming a massive seller there in 1968, reaching #4 on the American Albums Chart.

The title of the album is based on a malapropism. Eric Clapton had been thinking of buying a racing bicycle and was discussing it with Ginger Baker, when a roadie commented, "it's got them Disraeli Gears", meaning to say "derailleur gears", but instead alluding to 19th-century Prime minister Benjamin Disraeli. The band thought this was hilarious, and decided that it should be the title of their next album.

I have owned this copy of the stereo version of the album since I bought it shortly after it was released and I am selling now only because I am downsizing. As you can see from the photographs the cover and album sleeve are in good condition. The cover has become unglued for about a third of the way a long the top edge, but this is easily repaired. I've not played the record itself for over 30 years; however, I have examined it to see whether it has any warping, scratches, scuffs or other marks on it. It is definitely not warped. It contains the odd fingerprint and dust and there fore needs cleaning, but there do not appear to be any scratches on it; certainly no obvious or deep scratches.

The matrix numbers appear to be 594003 A v 1and 594003 B v 1. I say "appears" because they are hard to read. The record is not warped. It has fingerprints dust and fluff, but there are no scratches or scuffs. It needs a clean, but other than that it looks fine. I have not played it for over 40 years so cannot confirm it plays with no jumps, sticks or skips, but when I did play it I never had a problem with it and I believe that it would play well. The labels have no rip; there are some faint spindle marks (only visible when the record is held edge-on to a light), but other than that they are fine (see photographs 4 and 5).

The sleeve is the original. It is 40 years old, so the paper has aged, but there are no tears and, as you can see from photograph 3, it is fine.

The cover. It is slightly rubbed round the corners, and the right hand edge (where the record is inserted), but again, it is 40 years old. There are no tears or creases. The wording on the spine "CREAM - DISRAELI GEARS" is legible.
