Creedence Clearwater Revival released their fourth studio album "Willie And The Poor Boys" in November 1969 on Fantasy Records. It includes the band's seminal protest song "Fortunate Son" and the single "Down On The Corner." It's also notable for great cover versions of "Cotton Fields" and "Midnight Special."

This copy (Fantasy 8397) if from the first pressing and is in very good condition. The cover is intact but does have some ring and edge wear. There is some writing on the front and Side 1 label but I still grade it VG+. The disc test plays cleanly and is also VG+. It has the blue Fantasy labels with "Full Radial Stereo" in silver. This copy is notable for the typo on the back cover only which has Poorboys as one word. The dead wax on Side 1 is stamped F 2762. Side 2 is stamped F2763 in a different font. Fantasy differentiates disc sides with these numbers rather than with the conventional 1 or A designation.

In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.

This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 51 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
