Authentic whaling story with songs that are a rich part of our fold heritage, and are still being sung by American seamen. The form of the music in these sea songs arises directly from the work patterns of the sailors. In fact, many ships carried an extra hand whose job it was to sing-so that the men worked in rhythm.

The front of the heavier paper sleeve has a colorful picture of two men in a row boat trying to get a whale

The back of the sleeve has a note to parents, and the words to the songs. Also has definitions of the strange words that the Seamen used.

If you enjoy the records from the 50s and seamen songs, then this sure will make a nice addition to your childhood record collection or for your own children. 

It also will make a great collectible.

Labels are Side 1 - yellow and gray, Side 2 - yellow and orange.

Condition: 

• Sleeve: VG+VG+ (Crease from the record on both sides. Some wear along the edges and the corners. Bit of dirt on back)     
• Record: VGVG (Surface noise on both sides, but can still hear clearly)        
• Labels: VG++VG+ (Side 2 has a bit of wear around center hole)
