CROSBY, STILLS, NASH & YOUNG Déjà Vu (Atlantic SD 19118) US 2nd Pressing 1975 Archive MINT!
RARE US second pressing of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young`s masterful "Déjà Vu" on Atlantic Records (March 1970). Initially released in the spring of 1970, this is a facsimile US second pressing from 1975.
As close as it gets to perfection apart from a sealed record, this copy comes from my own collection. The album was bought in the early eighties and played once or twice. The record has been in storage for over 35 years. It is practically perfect.
"Along with many other people, I had hoped that the addition of Neil Young to Crosby, Stills, and Nash would give their music the guts and substance which the first album lacked. Live performances of the group suggested that this had happened. Young's voice, guitar, compositions and stage presence added elements of darkness and mystery to songs which had previously dripped a kind of saccharine sweetness. Unfortunately, little of this influence carried over into the recording sessions for Déjà Vu. Despite Young's formidable job on many of the cuts, the basic sound hasn't changed a whit. It's still too sweet, too soothing, too perfect, and too good to be true. (...) There is much on this album of real merit. "Helpless," "Carry On" and "Teach Your Children" are excellent songs, well performed. But for me Crosby, Stills and Nash—plus or minus Neil Young—will probably remain the band that asks the question, "What can we do that would be really heavy?" And then answers, "How about something by Joni Mitchell?"" - Langdon Winner in Rolling Stone, April 1970.

- No hairlines, scuffs or any other visible signs of previous play at all!
- Original second-pressing Atlantic Records labels with no spindle wear whatsoever.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "ST-A-701829-D" and "ST-A-701830-D".
- This record is certified to be a US second pressing of "Déjà Vu", released in 1975.
