Description
I bought this album new in late 1986 and taped it straight away. It has only been played a half dozen or so times since then, most recently just before listing. I have kept it in a plastic cover since I bought it which has helped to protect the cover and keep it clean. The vinyl on both sides is clean and shiny and both sides play LOUD and clear and both labels are clean.(EX). The cover is clean front and back with a couple of small creases (1 cm) near the spine and a small (4 mm) ding in the top left hand corner. Overall the cover is still rigid as is the spine which can easily be read in the shelf.(VG+) There is a paper inner sleeve which has song lyrics and production details on one side and a drawing of an erupting volcano on the other(see photos 7 & 8). This is also clean and still rigid, with no writing or stains.(VG+) This was the debut album for Crowded House, and there were five singles released from it over 1986 and 1987, with "Don't Dream It's Over " being the highest charting single. The album itself reached number one on the Australian albums charts on June 8 1987. This is the original Australian release and has ten tracks (see photos 5 & 6), (Later international releases had an additional track on side two which was a version of "I Walk Away" a song released by Neil Finn's first band Split Enz) This album has been included in Rolling Stone Magazine's 100 best albums of the eighties, listing at number 71.
