Description
Selected titles from the private collection of a music business veteran are now being made available for the first time. Titles offered by this Seller are one-owner and came directly from the pressing plant, record company warehouse, other label reps or record store unless otherwise noted.
Grading is based on visual inspection.
New and vintage vinyl is hard to grade strictly using eBay’s system because the record and the cover are two different components. Therefore, I grade a record new and mint if it is opened but has never been played. I use the eBay grading category to describe the cover condition.
- These 13 Volumes are First Pressings of the Chess/GRT/Increase Records original 1970-73 releases of classic hits from the fifties and sixties.
- These are the original Mono recordings and radio broadcasts.
- Each album is an authentic 40-minute recreation of a Rock N' Roll radio station from that year.Each album includes ads, station jingles and a DJ from that era introducing each song, reading local news and doing call-in contests.
- The series was produced by legendary broadcaster Ron Jacobs who was the program director at KHJ "Boss Radio" in Los Angeles (1965-1969). He also created 'American Top 40' and 'The History Of Rock and Roll'.
- This unique concept has never been tried before or since this historical series.
- The liner notes on the back covers are extensive and detailed descriptions of each song and the DJ featured on that album.
- None of these records have ever been played.
- They are all Promos. All are White Labels and some have small drill holes through the label.
- The covers have tight seams and show almost no wear.
- A few copies include a "Cruisin'" informational insert.
- This collection is a one-owner that the Seller got from the GRT/Chess sales rep in his record store between 1970 and 1973. They have been in storage for up to 53 years.
