Description
London Records stereo CS 6047, earliest heavy vinyl flat-edged "pancake" pressing with red FFSS wideband label and blueback jacket, pressed in England by Decca Records. Issued on Decca as SXL 2026. Stampers are 1E 1E.
Campoli plays the Mendelssohn violin concerto and the Bruch Scottish Fantasy, with Sir Adrian Boult and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. See pics for program details.
Disc VG++, no spindle wear, a few faint sleeve traces. Plays nicely with a bit of occasional light surface noise, play-graded all the way through. Jacket VG++
Not a perfect copy, but a very enjoyable listen, with great sound. Extremely rare and expensive on Decca SXL.
