Description
This LP is an awesome psych album and it's getting very rare.
It's on the German Polydor label and is entitled 'Culpeper's Orchard' by Culpeper's Orchard. I think it's their first album.
It's a stereo recording and the catalogue number is 2380 006. I don't know much about the band but I think they were an Anglo-Danish outfit and this LP was released originally in 1971 only in Germany, not in the UK (as far as I know).
The songs are wonderful and the musicianship is superb with loads of psych guitar on most tracks.
OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve is in fine condition. It is not laminated. There is some minor creasing and minor wear on the front, rear, edges and spine. The wording along the spine is 100% readable although there is a 45mm split along the spine which could be repaired. I've graded the sleeve Ex-.
INNER BAG - This is a standard white paper, non-lined type.
LYRIC SHEETS - There are two separate one-sided lyric sheets (one for each side) and these are in Ex/Ex condition.
RECORD - The record is in superb condition. It looks very clean and shiny and appears to have been played only a few times. There are some very superficial marks on either side which do not affect the quality. It plays very well on both sides with some minor surface noise and some occasional pops and clicks on both sides. These blemishes do not detract from the overall quality of record. There are no jumps on any of the tracks on either side.
LABELS - The labels are red with black and white wording. There are some minor spindle marks around both holes. The labels are in fine condition with no damage. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - 1 P 1971 E71 <> K 00 2380 006 S1 (stamper - B) - side two - 1 P 1971 E71 <> K < 1 00 2380 006 S2 . I've graded the record as Ex+ which I believe is very fair.
I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. It will be difficult to find this first pressing again in such beautiful condition.
